Let's Start off by a quick introduction to Permanent Makeup!
What does it take to become a Permanent Makeup Artist? In the State of Colorado you have to be a licensed RN, Cosmetologist, or Esthetician and after you do this you have to go to an advanced licensed school for 132 hours of Permanent Makeup Study and Hand's On classes!
This being said... I started my tattoo apprenticeship in 2014, started Cosmo school in 2015, became a Licensed Cosmetologist in 2016, Licensed Barber in 2018, who then was licensed by The Looking Glass of Permanent Makeup in 2019 for All Styles and Techniques of Permanent Makeup aka (PMU). I have been to multiple conventions and attended a few amazing PMU Seminars!
I Became a Master Permanent Makeup Artist for FYT Supply Company in 2021.
All of my Permanent Makeup tattoos are applied using a small, cordless tattoo machine this is very quiet (yes, even the hair strokes).
I have lots of experience in using different techniques of tattooing to achieve our desired look.
All Permanent Makeup tattoos are considered custom; everyone has their own unique facial features, facial skin tones and even different skin textures that make them solitary to work on.
When it comes to tattooing, we will be using YOUR features, tones, age and input to determine what look we are going for.
I get asked often about pain involved with these services, however, it is very mild and manageable for almost all my clients. I use both a primary and secondary topical numbing agent to make you comfortable throughout your appointment.
All of my Permanent Makeup services have the potential to last beyond 3 years without needing any maintenance after your touch up is complete at 8 weeks. However, this will be determined by your exposure to sun, the facial products you use, aging, skin type, if you smoke, your health, and hygiene.

What is Microblading, how long does it take, and how much does it cost?
Microblading
This is the most subtle form of permanent makeup for eyebrows. We start with a consultation (that can be done in the same day). Jessica will discuss the process, color match you brow, brow map, measure and draw them in. Once the style has been approved you will move on to numbing the brows for 15-20 minutes. This appointment is 2.5 hours max including drawing, numbing, and the procedure. Microblading technique is comprised of individual hair strokes that are carefully etched into the skin using a hand-tool. Clients who prefer this technique, like that you don’t even notice that they are actually tattooed because they actually look like little hairs! Whether you just want to add onto to the existing brow or create a whole new shape, we can achieve whatever look it is you are going for!

What is Microshading, how long does it take, and how much does it cost?
Microshading (aka soft combo brow)
Also known as the soft combo brow, because it is a combination of the hair strokes and shading. We start with a consultation (that can be done in the same day). Jessica will discuss the process, color match you brow, brow map, measure and draw them in. Once the style has been approved you will move on to numbing the brows for 15-20 minutes. This appointment is 3 hours max including drawing, numbing, and the procedure.Tiny hairs are etched into the skin and speckled shading is then added to give the brows a more defined look with added fullness. This technique is great for clients who desire a natural look with a little umph of a "powder look" between the strokes!

What are Freckles, Beauty Marks, how long do they take, and how much do they cost?
Freckles/beauty marks
Freckles/beauty marks are another way to add instant cuteness or natural looking, sun-kissed freckles. You have the option to have as many or as little as you want, or as dark or as light as you want them. The same goes for beauty marks; instant beauty. What a way to instantly but subtly change your look! They can take 2-30 minutes to do, just depending on what you want your outcome to look like.

Does Permanent Eyeliner Hurt?
We use numbing ointment to numb the eyes. Essentially you shouldn't feel anything. The most we have been told or experienced is a little "tickle" towards the corner of the eye when you first start. We then numb with a topical anesthetic again to numb the opening. This service can take 30 minutes-1.5. hrs depending on what you want you eyeliner to look like.

Does Permanent Makeup Lips Hurt?
You are numb during this service so no it does not. You may feel a little bit of needle vibration and if you do, we can apply more numbing cream. The lips do get swollen when the service is completed so we send you home with a gift bag of goodies to take care of that.

Permanent Makeup Vs. Semi-Permanent Makeup
When it comes to differentiating permanent makeup vs semi-permanent makeup, it is important to know that many artists use different names for the same procedures due to cultural differences, artistic expression, and marketing. This can confuse society. Cosmetic tattoo regulations in the U.S. vary from state to state, and, of course, regulations vary from country to country. Technically in the United States, all treatments are considered permanent from a health department standpoint.
Either way, whether you're seeking a permanent or semi permanent procedure, the treatments can't be washed off. The idea of a semi-permanent procedure is misconception. This is confusing for society. Because these treatments require opening the skin, proper sterilization and sanitation need to be practiced. Since the skin is a living, breathing organ, it's desirable to have pigments that fade over time, however the bulk of the fading process will be due to natural UV exposure and the bodies eventual breakdown of the pigment molecule. (Fading)
Advancements in Permanent Makeup
In years past, traditional carbon-based tattoo ink was used for permanent makeup. It lasted much longer and usually aged to a very unflattering color.
Pigments have advanced a great deal in recent years. Now pigments are made specifically for the permanent makeup industry and specifically for the face. The skin on the face is very different than the rest of the body. The combination of advancements in pigments and the fading process allows for a beautiful cosmetic solution that won't simply be washed off but can be tweaked as years go on. With this advanced pigment I usually don't even need a touch-up until 3-5 years on my clients.
Tattoo Pigment Types and Longevity
If the pigment is carbon-based, it will last much longer, but it'll still fade in color.
If the pigment is iron oxide–based, it will fade over time.
